Thanks so much for everyone that showed up to the St. Louis opening at the Tivoli Theatre! It was incredible to see everyone at the sold out show! We just received a great review from the St. Louis Post Dispatch. Joe Williams, the St. Louis Post Dispatch Film Critic, gave the movie an A- and said "...Can Mr. Smith Get to Washington Anymore? morphs into the best political-campaign documentary since "The War Room." That's a pretty big statement and we greatly appreciate it!
Thanks again, for all that attended, and if you haven't already done so, please let your friends know about the showings at the Tivoli!
For the moview viewers that don't know the election outcome, they will be watching to the very end. Lots of great emotions captured in this film.
Maybe times have changed and you can make a star out of a politician? (rather than being a "star" first (aka Ronald Reagan, Arlond Schwarzenegger).
You certainly captured an Olympic class effort of a person attempting to win a race. I think our political system needs a new fairness factor. The legacy politician who can use his name for votes and fund raising (should you be able to use someone elses data/lists for funding your election?) certainly has advantages over a common Mr. Smith.
To Jeff Smith;
For anyone that ever has lost an election we know those feelings. You were a tenacious campaigner, a compasionate manager, a gracious second place finsiher and I wish you success in your next election.
Thank you both for the film....
